The Competition is now closed
There were no overall winners for the art competition so the entrants were awarded Meadowhall shopping vouchers for taking part
Age Concern Rotherham has re-opened its doors to Day Centre clients at the newly refurbished St Ann’s Centre and wants to brighten up the walls of the centre by inviting young people to take part in an Art Competition. Jackie Gallagher and Claire Green, who are running the Centre, have worked hard to get it reorganised ready for when it re-opened on 5th May, but feel that the walls are very bare and could benefit from some bright paintings.
We are asking young people aged 16-25 years old to submit works of art such as:
- paintings
- Prints
- drawings
- mixed media
- computer generated
The artwork should not be larger than A1 in size and the closing date for the competition is Friday 24th July 2009 and results will be notified by 31st July 2009
The theme of the art work can be anything, for example:
- local scenes
- animals
- still life
- abstract
It will be judged by a panel made up of people who use the Day Centre, staff and local artists. The prizes will be entertainment vouchers:
1st Place £50
2nd Place £30
3rd Place £20
(Winners to be announced in The Advertiser 24th July)
